On 23 September 2026, the final conference of the TrustAI project, “Higher Education as a Catalyst for the Trustworthy and Sustainable Use of Artificial Intelligence,” was held at the Metropolitan Hotel in Sofia. The event focused on the educational resources developed through the project and how they could be used in university teaching.
The programme presented two main project outcomes: the TrustAI Curriculum, designed for students in the humanities, and the TrustAI Digital Training Incubator, which supports lecturers in applying artificial intelligence in teaching. Emphasis was placed on the ethical, trustworthy and sustainable use of technology, as well as on practical experience gained from piloting the materials with students and lecturers.
Participants had the opportunity to explore the project’s online platform and learning resources. The programme also included a discussion of the roadmap for sustaining the project’s results and a discussion about the future role of artificial intelligence in higher education.
Forty people registered for the conference. The organisations listed on the registration forms included UniBIT, the University of Economics – Varna, Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski”, South-West University “Neofit Rilski”, the Institute of Robotics, SAP Labs Bulgaria, IBM Bulgaria, Esri Bulgaria and Atos Bulgaria. The participation of representatives from academia and industry created an opportunity to exchange ideas on how to apply the TrustAI results after the project ends.
